Mold and Contaminant Removal/Demolition

Once the containment is up, we remove all compromised structural materials, such as: drywall, carpet, flooring, rotted wood, ect.  All the contaminated materials are safely disposed as to not cause more contamination and to mitigate damage to your property.

Antimicrobial Scrub / Deep Structural Cleaning

Areas with heavy mold growth will be cleaned, sanded, HEPA vacuumed or removed as necessary. If microbial growth is on a non-porous surface within your air duct system, Best Clean-up will use our proprietary equipment to clean and treat the air duct system with an EPA registered anti-microbial solution.

WHY TEST FOR MOLD

Mold is a living thing found virtually everywhere. It performs a vital natural function, helping to break down dead plants and animals and to recycle that material back into the environment. However, it can still pose a significant health risk for humans. Some people are allergic to mold spores (seeds), and they can experience symptoms such as hay fever, asthma, and eye irritation.

Our mold testing process comes in two parts: a visual inspection and a moisture reading. We know the signs to watch out for and we can track the mold back to its source.

Mold spores or mold fragments, either living or dead, can create a host of infections or allergic responses, in humans and animals

Mold is everywhere. They are part of the natural “background’ of the planet. Depending upon the specific climate and environment mold exposure can be insignificant or highly significant. Outdoors there is very little that can be done to control the number of spores which are airborne. Indoors, many options exist. When mold is growing indoors, this is a situation which can have enormous health consequences! The reason is that, very infectious species of mold which normally exist in small quantities outdoors, can become significant, indoors, when the conditions are ideal. A plumbing leak or any type of moisture intrusion, on an environmentally conductive surface, can cause molds to amplify rapidly and significantly.

Example of mold species that can cause infections or severe allergic reactions

ASPERGILLUS, PENISILLIUM, CLADOSPORIUM and STACHYBOTRYS

In outdoor environments, these species are kept in “check” by other competitive species of mold. When that competition is taken away, significant populations can be produced, in a relatively short period of time, and airborne contact exposure will certainly occur. Allergic reactions and upper respiratory infections are a very likely response to these specific species of mold.
